“ First time coming here, and the vibes were good. It felt busy, but the waiters definitely made time for you. The food was great. We had some delicious cheese fries, and it was a giant sheet pan of goodness. The sauce was right, had a little tang, and the cheese and bacon were great. Then I had a Barnyard Jerk Chicken Sandwich, which is new according to the menu. It was nice, too. Well seasoned, topped with crumbled goat cheese and bacon, on a ciabatta roll, I think. The Cajun fries with it were great as well. The party I was with had several rounds of Purple Haze, and they seemed to like those. The whole menu looked pretty good. I'll definitely be back. ”
“ Absolutely the BEST Cajun food in Amarillo!!! I was greeted and served with a smile, and enjoyed a cup of complimentary Gumbo because it was my first time at the Lazy Gator. The Gumbo was only a tease of how Awesome the food is here, and the "Mud Cat" Fish was Spectacular. The menu has numerous items that sound delicious and the portions are quite generous. Ester was an Amazing server and she advised me of several food recommendations. I will definitely eat here here again!! ... Returned on 12.27.2024, and was served by Zeden. He recommended the Lazy Suzanne and it was awesome! ”
“ Pro tip: If the Lazy Gator ever offers a special, get there as quickly as possible! Everything we’ve ever had off of the menu is absolutely delicious too. And the service is always great! But back to those specials... We’ve eaten shrimp and grits all over the South and we’ve never had anything close to their dish! The shrimp was lightly fried paired with their yummy scratch-made creamy Cajun sauce with cheesy green chile grits. Perfection! And Pondaseta’s Fast and Hazy on draft. Yes please! Highly recommend! ”

“ We were passing through on a 30 hour road trip from Az to Wisconsin. I have to say I have never experienced southern hospitality. We had been in the car for 12 hours and rolled in just before calling it a night. Micky was there to greet us with a smile and asked what brought us in. Just exhausted travelers looking for a bite to eat! He started us off with his gumbo which did not disappoint and helped us decide on our entrees. By far the best dinner I have had out in a really long time. Midwest folks can't do Creole! At least not where I'm from! I really wanted dessert and my husband really wanted to sleep after eating. Micky must have known because just when we were about to call it a night he came out with a sample of his dessert waffles topped with salted caramel ice cream. To die for!!! I don't know if we will ever make it back that way but thank you so much to Micky and Adam. Y'all treated us Midwestern folks to the best night out. ”

“ This is one of my favorite places to eat in Amarillo. The first time we went in, the owner brought us samples to try and answered all of our questions. He is always there checking on guests and making sure everything is going well. The food is amazing, and I am not that much of a Cajun fan! The drinks are great, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is perfect. ”
“ Very nice place with a Cajun flair. I had the Creek Fry and the wife had the Fish and Chips. Both were very good even though mine was a little spicier for my tastes but I'm not as young as I used to be. Even though it was spicy the flavors were phenomenal. We will try something different next time just to get a full sample of the menu. ”
